deco bench: before and after

Here is a sweet little deco bench we bought at Savers for $24.99. It just needed a little love.
I knew it would be just perfect for our mud room.

A little spot to sit and put our shoes on.

I decided that metallic grey was just the color it needed.

The I went to Kreatelier to have this cushion made to make our bench perfect. {Turns out it was even more perfect than I thought. While showing miss HeatherJeany photos of my latest refinished piece she said, 'you won't believe this, but I designed this fabric back in my design days at Quaker Fabric.' No wonder I fell in love with it!}

Next we decided to add a some paint to the walls to make this little room a bit cozier and more us. I'm in love with this mustard yellow. Especially with this metallic grey bench and the Mucha prints we bought while roaming the streets of Montmartre. I'm still looking for the perfect handles to make the project complete. {This room is teeny and super difficult to capture. I promise it's perfectly us!}

happy sunday!

ps: I did some soldering in the studio today!! it's been a long summer away.

  1. This is an amazing transformation!
    It looks so perfect! and I like the current handles - they sort of mimic the leaf shapes in the fabric.
    What a great find!

  2. Thanks, Sarah! The handles just aren't as sturdy as I would like them to be. Other than that I do love that they are original.
